Real Estate Developers Push for Solar Panels in Model Homes. As fuel prices continue to soar, developers are introducing eco-friendly features in their model units, with the hope that new homeowners will want a greener lifestyle. The CenterStone Communities' Harmony in San Bernardino County, have three model units which feature solar panels capable of generating 2.3 kilowatts of power. The other features of the model units include electric meters that move counterclockwise if the solar cells generate more power than the homeowners use, drought-resistant turf roof and irrigation system and water-efficient toilets. More doom and gloom. Foreclosures are on the rise. Fannie Mae reports losses. Worst housing market since The Depression. The media keeps droning on and on about this. And yes, many unfortunate homeowners have lost their homes. The rental markets are strong. Buyers are getting great deals. This is all cyclical. People are acting like this has never happened before.
